Serpentine Wildlife Management Area

The Serpentine Wildlife Management Area offers a 3.5-kilometre loop of flat terrain through an important wildlife preservation area. Located just off of Highway 99 and King George Boulevard, the park offers flat gravel trails for extra grip and a decreased risk of slipping on uneven or uphill terrain. The area is also home to an abundance of wildlife, especially in the winter months when non-migrating birds seek refuge in the Fen’s natural protection and abundant food supply. Tynehead Regional Park

If variety is the spice of life, Tynehead Regional Park would be the most flavourful dish you’ve ever tried, with an abundance of trails offering incredible sights and different terrain. For frosty walks, the Birch Grove Trail is ideal as it’s very flat, and since it’s a paved trail, it’s both stroller and wheelchair accessible. Crescent Beach

For those willing to brave a few gusts of wind off the Boundary Bay waters, the boardwalk at Crescent Beach is a beautiful winter stroll with incredible views of Mud Bay and beyond. Featuring 3 kilometres of flat, gravel terrain, incredible water views to the right, and adorable cottages to the left. Stop in at one of the quaint coffee shops on Beecher Street before your walk and pick up a nice warm cup of tea or coffee to keep your hands nice and toasty. (12160 Beecher Street)

Redwood Park

With a lush canopy of beautiful, towering trees that provide shelter from the West Coast’s winter weather, Redwood Park is possibly the most magical walk you can embark on in Surrey. Green Timbers is known as the birthplace of reforestation in British Columbia, making it a special park to visit no matter the season. With a whopping 10 kilometres of walking trails, Green Timbers Urban Forest also features a lake abundant with wildlife, making for incredible photo ops.
