Whether you call them golgappa or pani puri, or one of their many other names, this popular Indian chaat (snack) is a serious flavour bomb and a must-try! Crispy pooris (hollow spheres of fried bread) are filled with potatoes and chickpeas and served with chutney and tangy tamarind or mint flavoured water. They’re meant to be eaten by adding the chutney, pouring in some flavoured water and then popping it into your mouth whole. You can find them on the menu at many Indian restaurants along Surrey’s Spice Trail. In fact, they’re so delicious, we think they deserve their own trail!
